BMW Records the Highest Ever Sales in a Decade
BMW India sold a total of 8,876 units in 2021, with 8,263 units of BMW cars and 640 units of mini cars. In addition, 5,191 motorcycles were also sold.
New Delhi: Luxury carmaker BMW Group India has made impressive sales in 2021. Despite the lockdown caused by the corona epidemic and the shortage of semiconductors, the company has recorded the highest ever sales in a decade. A total of 8,876 units of cars were sold by BMW last year. Thus, BMW India has gained the highest growth of a decade by 35.19 percent on an annual basis.
How many units were sold in which segment?
BMW India sold a total of 8,876 units in 2021, with 8,263 units of BMW cars and 640 units of mini cars. In addition, 5,191 motorcycles were also sold. According to the company, BMW India has contributed more than 40 percent of the sales from locally manufactured SUVs. New models such as BMW M340i XDrive, BMW X7, and BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine saw a lot of demand last year.

All three segments have gained tremendously
In 2021, all the three segments of the BMW have gained. BMW Cars sold 8,236 cars in 2021, up 35.19 percent from 6,092 units in 2020. BMW Mini, on the other hand, sold 512 units in 2020, up 25 percent to 640 units. On the other hand, the company sold 5,191 units in 2021 with a spectacular growth of 102.54 per cent in the motorcycle segment.
BMW motorcycles also sold the highest ever
The year 2021 was also good for motorcycles BMW. BMW Motorrad India recorded the highest ever sales as a premium motorcycle maker. BMW Motorrad has registered an impressive 102.5 percent growth over 2020. BMW G310 R alone and BMW G310 GS together achieved more than 90% stake in sales. On the other hand, BMW C 400 GT scooters launched in the last quarter were also in great demand.
BMW's new car coming in March
BMW is also set to introduce its new all-electric mini 3-door Cooper SE soon. The company has officially announced that Cooper SE will be launched in India in March 2022. The new car base model is the electric version of mini copper. For information, the booking of Cooper SE was started in October with Rs 1 lakh and all the 30 units earmarked for India have been booked.
