Amazon Is Entering the Auto Business With Stellantis

Because of the increased demand for electric vehicles, internet retailer Amazon and international automaker Stellantis have chosen to collaborate. Amazon will employ an electric vehicle manufactured by Stellantis to extend its delivery network under the terms of the arrangement. The Stellantis vehicles and trucks, on the other hand, will employ Amazon's software on their dashboards. As a result, Amazon is poised to gain a foothold in the transportation business.

What are the areas where agreements have been reached?

The entire collaboration between Stelentis and Amazon includes both software and hardware. Amazon and Stelentis announced a collaboration to develop software for Stellantis' "digital cockpit." Stellantis Infotainment System will be available in 2024. Stellantis announced that it will use Alexa technology from Amazon for voice commands, navigation, auto maintenance, e-commerce platforms, and payment systems.

Amazon to help improve Stellantis' works

Apart from creating new software for Stellantis' electric cars, Amazon will also help accelerate the development of new digital products and improve the global work of Stellantis. In addition, Amazon can help Stellantis develop software-powered infotainments associated with the data processing cloud. In this way, these two companies want to come at par with Tesla Inc. in the field of data processing cloud.

Amazon has signed several agreements

Amazon has also entered into a separate agreement with Stellantis, under which Amazon will be the first customer of the new line of Stellantis' electric delivery van in 2023. Furthermore, the two firms stated that they intend to put thousands of Stellantis Ram Promaster electric vans on the road each year. Amazon, on the other hand, has already agreed to purchase one lakh electric vans from the startup Rivian Automotive.

Stellantis also provides customer service around the world. Significantly, Stellantis also owns luxury auto brands like NV Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat, Ram, and Peugeot. With the agreement between Amazon and Stellantis, its share prices in Milan have gone up by more than 3 percent.
