5G service to be available in Mid of 2021, reveals Mukesh Ambani

New Delhi: Indian Mobile Congress 2020 has got a grand opening on the hands of PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday. On the very first day, Mukesh Ambani, promoter of the country's largest mobile company Reliance Jio and chairman of Reliance Industries, announced that Jio will lead the 5G network in India. Complete preparations have been made to launch it in the second quarter of 2021. Jio will launch 5G in India at an affordable rate.

300 million people still stuck in 2G

Ambani said that 300 million Indians are still stuck in 2G technology in the digital world. Mukesh Ambani urged the government to take steps in this direction so that this 300 million people can join the digital economy of India and benefit from it. He requested the government to formulate a policy to free 30 crore Indians from 2G and shift them to smartphones.

Mukesh Ambani also indicated preparations to launch indigenous 5G technology in the second half of 2021 next year. He described Reliance Jio's 5G technology as indigenous. Mukesh Ambani said that Jio's indigenous 5G technology is a witness to the success of the Prime Minister's 'Self-reliant India Mission'.

IMC held in India for the fourth time

Explain that this is the fourth time that this event has been held in India. Every year the Mobile World Congress is held in Barcelona. IMC is organized in India on the same lines.

The IMC participates in all the major technology and IT companies in the country and abroad and launches their products. This time the event is also going to be very special. IMC 2020 is organized by the Department of Telecommunications and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). IMC 2020 has started from today ie 8 December which will run till 10 December 2020.
