The residents of Kishtwar and its adjoining areas in Jammu and Kashmir are all set to get five lakh gallons of surplus drinking water with the inauguration of the prestigious Naigadh Water Supply Scheme later this month, officials said on Sunday.

Seven persons died and over 30 were injured after a private bus fell into a flooded river in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district in the wee hours of Thursday.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said "water production" was back to normal in the city and the "crisis" was over, a day after water supply to several areas of the national capital was hit due to spike in ammonia levels.

"The level of Yamuna at railway bridge was 206.60 metres at 10 am. It is expected to recede further," the official at the flood department's control room said.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Sudam Marndi read out a statement in the assembly in this regard, after opposition BJP and Congress members expressed fear of a drought due to scanty rainfall across the state.

The per capita water availability has declined to 1,544 cubic metre in 2011 from 1,816 cubic metre in 2001, Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat told the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

Observing that fertilizer response ratio has been declining over time, the survey said organic and natural farming techniques, including Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF), can improve both water use efficiency and soil fertility.
