sushma swaraj

Today, the entire nation is remembering BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on her first death anniversary. She took over as foreign minister in the first term of Modi government.

BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur on Monday said the Opposition is using a 'marak shakti' (killing power) to harm BJP leaders, adding the 'evil power' was behind the recent deaths of former Union ministers Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj.

Swaraj died in AIIMS, Delhi on Tuesday night following a cardiac arrest. She was 67.

The last rites of Swaraj, who was the chief minister of Delhi from October-December 1998, will be held at Delhi's Lodhi Road crematorium later in the day.

The sudden demise of the senior BJP leader left everyone perplexed and in deep grief. Remembering the politician, senior advocate Harish Salve, who represented India in Kulbushan Jadhav case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) shared Sushma Swaraj's call to him just before her death.

Condoling the death of senior BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, the Delhi government on Wednesday declared a two-day mourning in the national capital as a mark of respect.

With the demise of former foreign minister, Sushma Swaraj, the national capital has lost its three former chief ministers in less than a year.
