The wait is over. Supreme Court will announce its final verdict on UGC guidelines today, August 28, putting an end to anxiety of lakhs of students.

The eyes of the students and institutions are now on the Supreme Court’s decision. The Supreme Court is expected to deliver its verdict by Monday.

The Supreme Court today continued to hear the pleas against the UGC guidelines making it mandatory for final year exams to be held by September 30 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Supreme Court, gathered today to conduct the hearing on pleas challenging the final-year examination guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), will be hearing the case again on Tuesday, August 18.

The UGC, in its latest exam guidelines, permitted universities to promote intermediate semester students on the basis of internal assessment and past performance.

The Supreme Court on Monday said that it will now hear the petition challenging the UGC decision to make final-year examinations mandatory on August 14.
