Mentioning that the BJP is trying to take away the citizenship of legal citizens of the country, Banerjee said she will not allow updation of National Population Register (NPR), which has already been stayed by her government.

The prominent Scheduled Caste leader, on Thursday, ended her political career in India's oldest grand party as well, saying her voice was not being heard.

A senior BJP leader from Ladakh on Saturday accused Congress of trying to regain the lost ground in the Union Territory through "divisive politics" by provoking the youth on "false pretext".
