Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. President Ram Nath Kovind has nominated the former CJI to the Rajya Sabha in a notification issued by the Central Government late on Monday evening.

Justice Bobde, 63, succeeds Justice Ranjan Gogoi who demitted office on Sunday. Justice Bobde will have a tenure of around 17 months and would demit office on April 23, 2021.
