The 31st match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 was played between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata and Pakistan registered an easy victory in this match.

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the team could not even play the full 50 overs and was all out for 204 runs in 45.1 overs.

In response, Pakistan won the match by 7 wickets riding high on the half-centuries of openers Abdullah Shafiq and Fakhar Zaman.

This is Pakistan's third victory in the current tournament. With this win, he has not only broken his streak of four consecutive defeats but has also improved his net run rate by registering a big win.

With this victory, Pakistan remains in the race to qualify for the semi-finals in the current tournament. After the victory against Bangladesh, Pakistan has come to fifth position in the points table.

Before this match, Afghanistan was at this position, but Pakistan's net run rate is better than Afghanistan. On the other hand, Bangladesh is out of the race for the semi-finals. This was Bangladesh's 6th defeat of the tournament and now Bangladesh cannot reach the semi-finals in any way.

The result of the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh has no effect on the top-4 teams in the points table.

India still remains at first position. India has 12 points with 6 wins in 6 matches whereas South Africa remains in second place with 10 points. New Zealand and Australia have 8 points each. New Zealand is at third place in the table on the basis of better run rate, while Australia is at fourth place.

If we talk about other teams, Afghanistan has reached 6th position whereas Sri Lanka is at seventh place, Netherlands at 8th, Bangladesh at 9th place. England is at the last position in the points table.
