Wimbledon 2016: Roger Federer qualifies for quarter-finals
London: Roger Federer has yet again managed to make a place in the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon after beating America’s Steve Johnson in the fourth round of the men’s singles event on Monday.
The one hour and 37 minutes contest witnessed a terrific Tennis game, where Federer proved his prowess by overpowering Steve Johnson by 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 on Central Court.
The semi-final clash of the men’s single could be an interesting affair as Federer will take on Croatia’s Marin Cilic, who defeated Japanese Kei Nishikori to reach quarter-finals.
This is for the 14th time that Federer has reached Wimbledon last-eight.
After the awe-inspiring win, Roger Federer said-
- I'm happy with how I played but It wasn't as easy as maybe it looked.
- Steve has picked up a lot of confidence in the last few weeks and he has a nice game for grass but I think I mixed it up well.
- I would never have thought I would win the first four rounds in straight sets. I now need to play my best tennis.
