London: Defending Champion Serena Williams on Saturday won her record-tying 22nd Grand Slam title after beating Germany’s Angelique Kerber 7-5, 6-3 in the final of Women's Single in Wimbledon.

Now, Williams stands only behind Margaret Court’s mark of 24.

This was the American champ’s seventh All England Club singles trophy and second in a row. A year ago, her victory at Wimbledon had raised her Grand Slam count to 21.
