WI Vs Ind: Murali Vijay to miss second Test post finger injury

Jamaica: Following a finger injury, Indian Cricket team opener Murali Vijay has been ruled out of the second Test match of the four-match series which is to be played at the Sabina Park stadium, Kingston in Jamaica of West Indies from Saturday.

Vijay was hit at his right thumb while being dismissed at the slips against Shannon Gabriel delivery in the first Test face-off.

India is leading the series with 1-0.

KL Rahul will be seen opening the game for India along with Shikhar Dhawan in the second Test match.

Dominating Indian side had posted a 94-run victory against Caribbean in the first Test encounter at the Antigua.

Calling Vijay’s injury unfortunate, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said-

  • Vijay has to miss out because of injury. It is not good for him.
  • He's someone who has always done well for the team, always takes pride in playing for the country.
  • He was not really happy with getting hit in the first innings, but it is not in his control.

Terming Rahul as a great package for the Indian team, Kohli said that former is batting really well and wants to make it count.
