Birmingham: What a player! Simply amazing! Indian captain Virat Kohli has played one of the most sensational innings of his life by hitting his first hundred on English turf in the first Test against England at the Edgbaston Cricket ground here on Thursday.

He completed his 15th hundred as captain of Indian Test team while it was his 22nd ton overall. After completing his much-awaited ton, he jumped in the air in joy and shouted 'Come on'.

He as well as all Indian Cricket fans must be thanking DJ Malan who dropped the Indian captain at slips when he was at the the individual score of 22 runs.

Kohli took 172 balls to reach break the shackles and getting himself listed among the batsmen who have scored at least one century in every Cricket playing nation.

He has decorated his remarkable inning with 16 fours while he completed his ton with the 14th boundary.

Kohli has played a captain's knock when it was needed the most as India was reeling under immense pressure at 100/5. He has made partnerships with almost every tail-ender to get India close to the first inning total of England (287).

With this hundred, Kohli has reduced the chances of England having an upper-hand in the opening Test.

By the time, this copy was published, Kohli was batting at 112 runs off 188 balls with 16 boundaries. India has lost 9 wickets for 237 runs and Umesh Yadav is batting at the other end at 1 run off 4 balls.
