Another crowning glory for Virat; Yuvraj comes back in ODIs
Mumbai: Virat Kohli has been named as the skipper of Indian Cricket team for ODIs and T20Is, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Friday.
The decision comes after Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as the skipper of the shorter formats on Wednesday. It is to be known that Kohli already leads India's Test squad.
Yuvraj Singh makes a comeback in ODIs as well as T20Is while Delhi wicket keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant makes a cut in the 15-member squad for the T20Is.
Veteran Indian paceman Ashish Nehra has sustained his place in the T20I side while Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowler Yuzvendra Chahal also got a place in the 15-member T20I team.
Karun Nair was not given a place in either of the sides. Suresh Raina, who has been away from international Cricket since long, has been re-inducted in the T20I side. Manish Pandey, on the back of sublime Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons, has been awarded a place in both ODi and T20I squads.
This is going to be the first time ever when MS Dhoni will be playing under Virat Kohli's captaincy.
The three-match ODI series between India and England is scheduled to begin on January 15 at Pune. The three-T20I series will embark on January 26 at Kanpur.
