Vijay Hazare Trophy: Dhoni’s whirlwind ton guides Jharkhand to win

Kolkata: Showing glimpses of his vintage ODI wonders, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has yet again played an extraordinary knock to help Jharkhand to a comprehensive 78-run win over Chhattisgarh in a Group D Vijay Hazare Trophy game at Eden Gardens here on Sunday.

When Dhoni came to the crease, Jharkhand was struggling at 43/5 in 14.4 overs. MSD, then, dug into the Chhattisgarh bowling attack, smashing it to all parts of the ground till he was dismissed in the final ball of the inning.

Dhoni's ton came with six to off-seamer Pankaj Rao. Mahi's 107-ball 129-run knock was laced with 10 fours and six huge sixes.

In a reply to Jharkhand's 244 run target, Chhattisgarh surrendered scoring 165 runs.
