Aamer Sohail obliquely blames Pakistan of fixing CT 2017 semifinal

New Delhi: Former Pakistan cricketer Aamer Sohail sparked a turmoil in the cricketing world by indirectly alleging that Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and his teammates fixed the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semifinal against England to reach into the final.

Sohail, speaking on a Pakistani news channel, said that Sarfraz and his teammates have no reason to rejoice as it was not their performance but external factors which have helped them foray into the final of the Mini World Cup, where they will meet arch-rivals India on Sunday.

WATCH the viral video in which Aamer Sohail can be heard making the remark:

He, however, took a u-turn on being questioned by the journalists later claiming that the video was out of context as he had made the remark before the semifinal clash took place.

Whatever the truth is, but the ancient-rivals India and Pakistan have reached into the final of the coveted tournament by playing some great Cricket throughout.

After being badly thumped by India in the opening encounter (by 124 runs) on June 4, Pakistan has played some flawless Cricket to reach into the final. Their dominance include a stunning win against South Africa and sheer dominance with bat and ball against England in the first semifinal of the tournament.

Pakistan had defeated England by 8 wickets as after restricting a much-fancied home team to mere 212 runs, they comfortably chased down the target with 77 balls remaining.

India on the other hand has lost one match in the league stage in the hands of Sri Lanka and before and after that particular match, the defending champions have been unmatchable, either it was Pakistan, South Africa or Bangladesh.

India registered a dominating 9-wicket win against Bangladesh in the second semifinal of the tournament on Thursday, as after containing the Bengal Tigers for 264 runs on a flat wicket, India managed to chase it down with almost 10 overs remaining.

It surely is going to be an epic battle between the two countries which worship the sport like a religion!
