New Delhi: India's gymnastics judge Deepak Kabra is going to create history in the Tokyo Olympics. He will join as a judge in Artistic Gymnastics. For the first time in gymnastics, an Indian judge will be involved in the Olympics.

Deepak Kabra as Judge in Artistic Gymnastic:

The matches of the Olympic Games are to be held from 23 July to 8 August. 120 players of India are playing in 18 games. Only one player is involved in gymnastics.

India's star gymnastics player Deepa Karmakar has given information in this regard on social media. He wrote, 'The first Indian to be selected as a judge in gymnastics at the Olympic Games! Congratulations to Deepak Kabra Bhaiya for this wonderful achievement and best wishes for Tokyo 2020. This time Pranati Nayak has qualified for the Olympics from India's gymnastics.

Deepak Kabra, who lives in Mumbai, was included in the Asian Gymnastics Technical Committee in 2019 as a member. He joined the Asian Championships in 2019 as the chief judge. Before Deepak Kabra, Pawan Singh, joint secretary of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), has also been selected as a judge in the Tokyo Olympics. He is the first Indian to enter the Olympics as a judge in shooting.

Tokyo Olympics:

Only one female player has qualified in gymnastics from India in the Tokyo Olympics. 26-year-old Pranati Nayak has got an Olympic quota on the basis of performance in the Asian Championships in 2019.

However, Deepak Karmakar is not going down this time. In the 2016 Rio Olympics, Deepa missed out on winning a medal by a narrow margin. Till now India has not got any medal in Olympic history in gymnastics.

Talking about the 2016 Rio Olympics, Indian players could win only two medals. PV Sindhu won silver medal in badminton. At the same time, Sakshi Malik won the bronze medal in wrestling.
