Team India unlikely to participate in ICC Champions Trophy 2017!

Mumbai: There is a strong possibility that the Indian Cricket team may opt out of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2017, scheduled to be played from June 1 to June 18, said a highly placed source in Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Telling about the reason for the same, the source added that BCCI is planning to shun the Mini World Cup because the International Cricket Council (ICC) is unwilling to change its decision of scrapping the 'Big Three' of the world Cricket, who share more power than rest of the Cricket playing nations.

The Big Three include India, England and Australia, and the world's richest Cricket board (BCCI) is not at all ready to release its powers.

To present a strong statement before ICC, BCCI, in its two-hour Special General Meeting (SGM) discussed about pulling out the Indian team, who are the defending champions, from the tournament.

According to the current laws, the boards of the 'Big Three' countries have much bigger share in ICC's global revenues than the rest of the countries, and every big decisions are taken only after their nod.

Well, it would land as a major jolt on the Indian Cricket fans if Virat Kohli-led team India disunite itself from the ICC Champions Trophy, because a huge section of Cricket lovers have been waiting for the clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, which is scheduled to take place on June 4.
