Bengaluru: RCB batsmen Chris Gayle (76) and Virat Kohli’s (54) innings went in vain as Sunrisers Hyderabad outshines Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in the final of IPL 2016 and lifted their first Indian Premiere League trophy at the M.Chinnaswamy stadium on Sunday night.

  • Gayle played a gigantic knock of 76 runs off just 38 balls with 4 fours and 8 sixes alongwith skipper Kohli, who took 35 balls in his 54 runs innings.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s spell 4-0-25-0 played a key role in SRH win.
  • Previously, SRH skipper David Warner’s explosive innings of 69 runs off 38 balls and Cutting’s cameo of 39 runs off 15 balls helped Sunrisers script a humongous total of 208 runs on board.

Brief Score-

Sunrisers Hyderabad- Warner 69, Cutting 39; Jordan 3/45

Royal Challengers Bangalore- Gayle 76, Kohli 54; Cutting 2/35
