Gavaskar finds Ganguly as perfect candidate for BCCI chief

New Delhi: Following the ouster of Anurag Thakur as BCCI chief, Indian Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar on Tuesday said that Sourav Ganguly would be the perfect candidate for the top post of Board of Control for Cricket in India.

After the elimination of Thakur by the Apex court, the post is vacant.

“BCCI has got very good bench strength to take up the bigger roles and one name that comes to my mind is Sourav Ganguly,” said Gavaskar while talking to NDTV.

Reminding Dada’s captaincy, Little Master said when Indian Cricket team was struggling after match fixing saga between 1999-2000, it was Ganguly who turned the things around for India with his aggressive captaincy.

Earlier, in a huge setback to Cricket administrator, the Supreme Court on Monday ordered to remove Anurag Thakur as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), stating that all the board officials who do not fall in line with the reforms suggested by the Lodha committee will have to leave.
