SL vs Ind, one-off T20: Sri Lanka sets 171-run target for India
Colombo: In the lines of Dilshan Munaweera's fiery fifty, Sri Lanka has set 171-run target for India in the one-off T20I game at R.Premadasa Stadium here on Wednesday.
The finish went in the favour of the islanders owing to which they put up a competitive total. Lankans amassed 26 runs off the last two overs.
After being put to bat, Sri Lanka did not get the desired start as lost skipper Upul Tharanga very early. He was bowled out at 5.
Then came, Munaweera who shifted things into Sri Lanka's favour by launching some insane hitting right from the start of his inning. His 29-ball 53-run knock was laced with five fours and four sixes.
Munaweera and Priyanjan's 37-run stand for the fourth wicket was the only highlight of the Sri Lankan innings which once again derailed at a crucial juncture, thanks to the Indian spin duo of leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and chinaman Kuldeep Yadav.
Towards the end, all-rounder Isuru Udana slammed an unbeaten 10-ball 19 but more importantly chipped in with a 36-run undefeated eighth wicket stand with Priyanjan to help the Sri Lankans go past the 150-run mark.
For India, Yuzvendra Chahal was the leading wicket-taker with bowling figures 3/43. Kuldeep bagged two while Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah claimed one-wicket each.
Brief Scores: Sri Lanka 170/7 (Dilshan Munaweera 53, Ashan Priyanjan 40 not out, Isuru Udana 19 not out, Yuzvendra Chahal 3/43, Kuldeep Yadav 2/20) vs India.
