New York: Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza on Wednesday suffered a loss in the quarter-finals of the US Open finishing India’s campaign in the league.

Indo- Czech pair of Sania- Barbora Strycova was outshined by 6-7, 1-6 against Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic in the women’s doubles category.

After Rohan Bopanna’s departure from the US Open, Sania was the last Indian player in the contest.

Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic will play Matina Hingis-Coco Vandeweghe pair in the semi-finals of US Open on Wednesday.

Earlier, Sania, Barbora had defeated Nicole Gibbs and Nao Hibino by 6-4, 7-5 and entered quarter-finals on Monday.
