London: Indo-Swiss pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis has been knocked out of the Wimbledon championships. They faced a defeat in the quarter-finals against Hungary’s Timea Babos and Kazakhstan’s Yaroslava Shvedova.

In a short game of 68 minutes, the fifth seed pair beat the Mirza-Hingis duo by 6-2, 6-4 at the All England Club in the women’s doubles.

After facing a defeat, Sania Mirza said-

  • It is never easy to lose, no matter at what stage.
  • But, we had a great year so far.
  • It is disappointing right now.
  • We have to come back and try and find ourselves.

Hungarian and Kazakhstani pair will now take on Raquel Atawo and Abigail Spears in the semi-finals.
