Rio de Janeiro: With Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna cruising into the quarter finals of the ongoing Rio Olympics, the sixth day turned out to be the luckiest day since the starting of mega tournament.

Beating the Australian pair of Sam Sotsur and John Peers by 7-5, 6-4, the Indian pair cruised into the quarter finals of the mixed double event.

The Aussie pair took the lead in the first set by 1-0 and gave a strong competition to their Indian counterparts.

Indian pair of tennis players, Sania and Bopanna made a comeback in the second set.

They continued their dominant show and won the match.

Earlier, the Indian men’s hockey team qualified for the pre-quarter finals even after they lost the match to Netherlands and ninth seed P V Sindhu also progressed for the quarter finals.
