Nottingham: The Cricket Team of England on Tuesday posted a record 444 runs total in 50 overs following 171 runs knock by Alex Hales against Pakistan in the third match of the five-match ODI series at the Trent Bridge Stadium in England’s Nottingham city.

The Pakistan team collapsed at 275 runs while chasing the huge total. Sharjeel Khan scored the highest of 58 runs.

England broke the record of 443 runs total which was made by Sri Lanka against Netherlands in 2006.

Alex hit 22 boundaries and four sixes in his knock.

Other England batsmen Joe Root (85), Jos Buttler (90*) and Eoin Morgan (57*) also helped team scripting the big total.

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali was the leading wicket taker bagging two crucial wickets.

It may be mentioned that Indian Cricket team has crossed the 400 runs mark two times in ODIs. The highest score made by the ‘men in blue’ in a one-day match has been 418 runs against West Indies in Indore. Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag had hit 219 runs in that very game.
