New Delhi: Former Indian batsman, commentator and cricket administrator Ravi Shastri, who finished his role as director of Indian Cricket team, feels that Virat Kohli should be made captain in all three formats.

Shastri, a no-nonsense expert of the game, minces no words in stating MS Dhoni should play and enjoy his game in a carefree manner under Kohli.

During an interview to a leading news channel, Ravi Shastri said..

  • If I were the chairman of selectors, I would have thought about making Virat Kohli the skipper in all the three formats.
  • I want MS Dhoni to enjoy his game under Kohi’s captaincy.
  • India has no major event in three yearstill 2019 World Cup.
  • This is the best opportunity to think and build.

On MS Dhoni..

  • Dhoni can still contribute as a player.
  • Time has come for MSD to allow himself enjoying the game.
  • It will depend on the passion and hunger of the right handed batsman.

India will play Zimbabwe in ODI and T20 series from June 11 under the captaincy of shrewd MS Dhoni followed by four test series against West Indies under Virat.
