Indore: Indian ace batsman Ajinkya Rahane hit his 8th ton in his 29th cricket test match against New Zealand at Holkar stadium here on Sunday.

Rahane,who has nine half centuries to his credit, has also a high conversion rate like his skipper Virat Kohli, completed his century on the 2nd day of 3rd cricket test against the visiting New Zealand. His three-figure knock came off 216 balls with the help of 11 fours and one six.

Earlier on the first day on Sunday, the Mumbai batsman achieved the distinction of scoring 2000 test runs. In fact, the year 2016 has been good for him during which he scored over 450 runs so far in nine innings with one century and three fifties at a staggering average of over 76.

During the course of his century, Ajinkya was involved in 200 plus 4th wicket partnership with Kohli, who also scored a century in the same innings.
