PV Sindhu wins India Open Super Series, thumps Carolina in final

New Delhi: Indian ace-shuttler PV Sindhu succeeded to avenge her Rio Olympics defeat against Carolina Marin with a terrific 21-19, 21-16 victory in the final encounter of India Open Super Series 2017 at Siri Fort Sports Complex here on Sunday.

Sindhu dominated the whole Badminton game which lasted for 47 minutes. It is her maiden Super Series win.

With this win, Sindhu also equalled Carolina in head-to-head clashes with 5-5.

She had also defeated Saina Nehwal by 21-16, 22-20 to enter the semis of the India Open Super Series on Friday.

It may be recalled here that Sidhu had thumped Carolina Marin in the BWF Super Series in Dubai last year.
