Mumbai: Dubbing 17-year old talent Prithvi Shaw as skilful batsman, Cricket legend and India U-19 coach Rahul Dravid said that former has a long way ahead and could turn into a great player through learning and experience.

“Many players are graduating from here as nobody is a complete cricketer yet. This is their learning phase. Prithvi Shaw is one of them,” said Dravid after India’s terrific win over England by 129 runs in the first match of youth ODI series here.

Dravid said that his work is to prepare young players for big challenges by using his Cricketing experience. “At the end of the day, the hardwork would matter as there is no magic formula of success,” he added.

Giving credits to the selectors of Mumbai Cricket for having guts of playing a 17-year old batsman, Dravid said that they asked him regarding the Shaw and he just approved his name from his side.

Earlier, Shaw had registered his name as the third batsmen of Mumbai to touch the three-figure mark on debut along with Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. In his very first appearance in the Ranji Trophy, a 17-year old opener Prithvi Shaw had proved his mettle by hitting a ton and helping his side to enter into the finals.
