Mumbai: Apart from being the 'King of Romance' in Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has another identity of a noble and charitable man, and keeping up with his image, he has extended financial help to legendary boxer Kaur Singh, who is facing a serious medical condition and is unable to pay his bills.

The former boxer is suffering from cardiac related problems and was unable to pay a bill of Rs 2 lakh in a hospital.

Giving a perfect example of generosity, SRK paid the bill through his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and subsequently, Kaur Singh was discharged from the private hospital in Mohali.

The 52-year-old King Khan recently said, "Sportspersons bring pride to a country and it is our duty to look after them as a society. After reading about Kaur Singh, we as a sporting unit felt the need to stand by our fellow sportsman and urge everyone else to do the same in their own way. We wish Kaur Singh a speedy recovery and a healthy life."

An overwhelmed Kaur Singh reacted saying, "After receiving such huge support from all over the country, I feel as if I am reliving the glory of the past. I thank everyone who came out and extended help."

It is not known to many that Kaur Singh is the only Indian boxer who has boxed with legendary Muhammad Ali in an exhibition match.

Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy filming Aanand L Rai's untitled project in which he will be seen portraying a dwarf. The film will see Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in essential characters and will hit the theaters on December 21, 2017.
