Neeraj Pandey replies to Gautam Gambhir’s anti-Dhoni statement

Mumbai: Days after Gautam Gambhir’s remark against MS Dhoni of ‘army men deserving biopic rather than any cricketer’, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ director Neeraj Pandey on Thursday hits back saying MSD himself is a Lt. Colonel in the Indian Army and it is impossible to make every film on the same genre.

“I have also made films like ‘Baby’ and ‘Rustom’ which are on army men but it is not possible to make every film on a particular genre. As a director, I need to talk about everything,” said Neeraj.

After the Uri terror attack, Gambhir had said on Twitter that those people who have contributed more to the country than the cricketers, deserve a biopic rather than any cricketer.

When Neeraj was asked about the same, he said:

• ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ is an inspiring and very motivational story.
• And in reply to Gautam Gambhir’s claims, I will only say that MS Dhoni is serving Lt Colonel in the Indian Army.

Earlier, Mahi had asked Neeraj to put lights on his struggles in the film despite glorying him.

Other Highlights:

• Sushant Singh Rajput is sporting MS Dhoni in the films.
• The flick also stars Kiara Advani, Disha Patani and Anupam Kher in the lead.
• The film is set to hit the theatres on September 30.
