New Delhi: Three sixes in his 80-run knock and a bold Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the Mohali One Day International against New Zealand was a charm which was missed since years. MSD has remained at his very very best whenever he promoted himself to no.3 or 4.

If we quote his words of post match conference, “I was not fluently rotating the strike at no. 5 or 6”, which shows Mahi’s desire to bat up in the order. With Dhoni joining Kohli, who bats at no.3, it is going to be destruction of opponents bowling line up. Both are master chasers who average above 50 in ODI format of Cricket.

Mahi also blamed batting at no. 5 or 6 for his batting failure in the recent days saying, “Batting lower is hampering my batting to a certain extent.”

Records accomplished by Dhoni in 3rd ODI:

  • 196 sixes (most by any Indian batsmen)
  • 9000 ODI runs
  • 15000 International runs
  • 700 ODI fours
  • 151 stumpings in International Cricket
  • 125 sixes as skipper (most by any captain)
