Shami has been in trouble due to an injury on his right leg since the first Test of the series, but the paceman somehow managed to play first three matches of the five-Test series between India and England.

"The medical team of BCCI has confirmed that Mohammed Shami and Wriddhiman Saha have been ruled out of the fifth Test match of the Paytm Test Series-2016, scheduled to start on December 16, 2016, against England in Chennai," said Board secretary Ajay Shirke.
