New Delhi: Star Pacer, Mohammad Shami marked his presence on an online chat by ESPNcricinfo and praised India's current pace attack. Shami highlighted the fact that India may have the best set of pacers in history of test cricket. The current bowling squad is capable enough to surpass the brutal attack by West Indies pacers in 70s-80s.

The deadly combo of Shami, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have set example at world level. India use to rely on spinners for bowling, but having all these in squad has given new dimensions to team. "You and everyone else in the world will agree to this. No team has ever had five fast bowlers together as a package," said Shami

Shami on India's pace attack

"Not just now, in the history of cricket, this might be the best fast-bowling unit in the world."

"We have a bowler on the bench who can work up speeds of 145-48 kph (over 90mph)."

On asking about support he gets from Kohli as captain, he stated-

"We surround Virat Kohli and ask him to make the decision."

"But he normally says, 'Don't get me involved in all this; you decide among yourselves, I don't have an issue."'

"We support each other whether we're getting wickets or not," he added.

Mohammad Shami has made his come back as an even better bowler after surviving a career threatening knee injury. Shami has 144 wickets in ODI and 180 in test cricket to his credit. He stunned everyone by clinching 14 wickets in 4 games at WC along with a hat-trick.
