Astana (Kazakhstan): Mary Kom failed to qualify for Rio Olympics as got defeated in the second round of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships here on Saturday.

Five-time world champion M C Mary Kom, who was competing in the flyweight category (51 kg) lost 0-2 to Germany’s Azize Nimani in the second round of the following event.

Mary Kom started aggressively but received failure at the end.

World Championships will be held in August. It is the final qualifying event for the women boxers in the Rio Olympics.
