New Delhi: Reacting to the questions regarding MS Dhoni’s ability as a match finisher, Indian Cricket team head coach Anil Kumble on Wednesday said that MSD is a kind of batsman who does not need time to settle and can launch hitting at any moment according to the game situation.

“Mahi carries ample of experience; does not need time to settle down,” said Kumble.

When Kumble was asked about Dhoni’s batting order, he said:

  • Dhoni’s batting order will depend on the situation of a match.
  • While chasing you need more experience. As far as MS is concerned, he has enough experience.
  • He has shown over the years that he has enough capabilities as a batsman.
  • You will probably see a different batting order depending on different situations.

Kumble said Manish Pandey is the suitable option to bat at no. 4. Praising Pandey, he said that 27-year old right handed batsman has a spark to play well in the pressure situations.

Men in Blue will play Kiwis in the second ODI of the five-match series at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium here on Thursday.
