New Delhi: Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma could be rested by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, which is scheduled to take place after IPL 2016.

BCCI official said-

  • Virat and Rohit could be rested for the series against Zimbabwe.
  • They have been playing non-stop Cricket for the last six months.
  • They need to be refreshed before the start of the tour to West Indies.
  • The chances of Shikhar Dhawan going for the Zimbabwe tour are also very less.

As per reports, Indian limited overs skipper MS Dhoni may also skip the series. In Dhoni’s absence, Ajinkya Rahane could lead a side.

Interestingly, Indian selectors can try Krunal Pandya and KL Rahul after their impressive performances in IPL 2016.

India will play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against Zimbabwe from June 11.
