Junior Hockey World Cup: India into quarters, beats SA 2-1

New Delhi: Continuing its dominance, India on Monday entered quarters of Junior Hockey World Cup topping its pool. India defeated South Africa 2-1 in a pre-quarter game at the Major Dhyan Chand Astroturf stadium.

With three back-to-back wins, India ended the league matches on a high note.

The first goal came from Indian skipper Harjeet Singh in the 11th minute. South Africa also opened its account hitting its first in the 27th minute. Lastly, Mandeep Singh’s reverse flick in the 55th minute helped India to register another win in the contest.

The quarter-finals will be played from Thursday.
