Irfan Pathan becomes father of a baby boy

Lucknow: Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan became a father on Tuesday. He announced the arrival of a baby boy in the Pathan family on Twitter.

Irfan tied the nuptial knot with Jeddah-based model Safa Baig in a low-profile affair in February, 2016. He, however, threw a grand wedding reception in Mecca.

Welcoming the newborn child in the family, Irfan's elder brother Yusuf Pathan also took to Twitter and expressed his delight.

Irfan Pathan has been away from international Cricket since October 2012 when he appeared in a Twenty20 International (T20I).

The 32-year-old represented MS Dhoni-led Rising Pune Supergiants in last edition of Indian premier League.

Despite being away from the tea India for a long time now, the left-arm paceman still believes he will soon make a comeback to the Indian playing XI.

Irfan Pathan has been part of Indian team in 29 Tests, 120 ODIs and 24 T20Is.

He holds a unique record of being the only player in the history of Cricket to claim a hat-trick in the first over of a match. He did it against India's arch rivals Pakistan at Karachi in 2006.
