IPL 10: Maxwell go on rampage as KXIP canter to 6-wicket win against RPS
Indore: The audacious knock of captain Glenn Maxwell helped Kings XI Punjab to begin its IPL with a roar. Kings blew away Rising Pune Supergiants by six wickets with six ball remaining in the Indian Premier League match at Holkar Cricket stadium here on Saturday.
Maxwell played a match-winning inning of 44 runs which was studded with two fours and four sixes. Together with David Miller, he put on a 79-run stand which gave the side, a huge boost. Miller also shined as remained unbeaten scoring 30 runs off 27 deliveries.
Chasing the total of 163 runs, Hashim Amla and Manan Vohra provided KXIP a fine start. Manan Vohra was the first who departed at a score of 14 runs. Later, Amla (28), Saha (14) and Axar Patel (44) also went back to pavilion.
RPS would have fancied defending total of 163 runs if Imran Tahir was bit more brutal to the batsmen. In his four over spell, he made KXIP batsmen struggle. He ended with bowling figures of 2/29. Ashok Dinda and Rahul Chahar bagged one wicket each.

Earlier, Rising Pune Supergiants had posted a total of 163 runs against Kings XI Punjab with fine knocks of Ben Stokes and Manoj Tiwary.
