Mumbai: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), after being put in to bat first, piled up a healthy total of 178/6 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) at the Wankhede Stadium here on Sunday.

After the early unfortunate dismissal of Shreevats Goswami (5 off 5), Shikhar Dhawan (26 off 25, 2 fours, 1 six) and skipper Kane Williamson (47 off 36, 5 fours, 2 sixes) stitched together a 51-run partnership for the second wicket to get the team in a good position.

Williamson, however, missed a deserving half-century as Karn Sharma ditched him with a wide delivery and MS Dhoni did the glove work right to send the most dangerous batsman back to the dugout.

Shakib Al Hasan played an aggressive inning off 23 runs off only 15 balls with 2 fours and a six, while Yusuf Pathan played his best knock of IPL 2018 scoring 45 runs off only 25 deliveries with 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Deepak Hooda failed to click and returned after adding 3 runs off 4 balls while Carlos Braithwaite also played a vital cameo scoring 21 runs off 11 balls with 3 sixes.

Deepak Chahar gave only 25 runs but was the only CSK bowler who could not take any wickets. Lungi Ngidi, whose first over was a maiden in front of Kane Williamson, spent 26 runs in four overs for a wicket.

Shardul Thakur, who bowled the last over off the inning, went for 31 runs for a wicket in four overs. Karn Sharma gave 25 runs in 3 overs and got the all important wicket of Williamson. Dwayne Bravo once again leaked too many runs in his four overs. He went for 46 runs and managed a wicket.
