Pune: Riding on the back of an emphatic hundred by Ambati Rayudu, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ripped apart the best bowling line up in Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) – Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – to register a comprehensive 8-wicket win at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium here on Sunday.

CSK, which came in to chase down a big target of 180 runs, got off to a fantastic start as openers Rayudu and Shane Watson added 134 runs for the first wicket off only 81 balls. Rayudu remained not out at 100 off 62 balls with 7 fours and 7 sixes while Watson added 57 runs off only 35 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes before getting run out.

Suresh Raina went back cheaply after scoring only 2 runs off 3 balls. Skipper MS Dhoni remained unbeaten at 20 runs off 14 balls with 1 four and a six.

Rayudu was named man of the match for his belligerent knock.

Sandeep Sharma was the only SRH bowler to get a wicket in the match, while bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul and Shakib Al Hasan went for too many runs. Rashid Khan bowled a fine spell giving away only 25 runs, though, he could not get any wickets.

Earlier after being put in to bat first, the most consistent Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batsmen Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson clicked once again to help their team post 179/4.

Opener Dhawan played a fantastic knock of 79 runs off only 49 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes, while skipper Williamson added 51 runs off 39 balls with 5 flourishing fours and 2 eye-catching sixes. The duo stitched together 123-run partnership for the second wicket off only 75 balls. Both of them, however, went back to the dub out in quick successions which reduced SRH's total by at least 20 runs.

Deepak Hooda also played a belligerent cameo of 21 runs off only 11 balls with a four and a six. Shakib Al Hasan contributed 8 runs off 6 balls with a boundary.

Dhawan's opening partner Alex Hales failed yet again scoring only 2 runs off 9 deliveries, while Manish Pandye continued his poor season scoring only 5 runs off 6 balls.

Shardul Thakur was the most successful bowler for CSK as he picked up two wickets for 32 runs in four overs, while Deepak Chahar conceded only 16 runs in his four overs and also picked up the important wicket of Hales.

Dwayne Bravo once again leaked too many runs. He gave away 39 runs in his four overs but bagged the big wicket of Shikhar Dhawan.
