IPL 10 RPS vs MI: Hardik Pandya smashes Dinda as Mumbai posts 184/8

Pune: The last over heroics by Hardik Pandya elevated a struggling Mumbai Indians to a huge score of 184/8 against Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in the second match of the Indian Premier League season 10 (IPL 10) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association ground here on Thursday.

Hardik made most out of the final over by scoring 30 runs and raising his individual score to 35 runs off 15 balls, with the help of 1 four and 4 sixes. Hardik smashed four sixes and a four in the final over, bowled by Ashok Dinda, who finished his four-over spell at 0/47.

Earlier, Jos Buttler (38 runs off 19 balls, 3 fours and 3 sixes) and Parthiv Patel (19 runs off 14 balls, 4 fours and a six) provided a good start to Mumbai, but soon Imran Tahir, who came in for an injured Ravichandran Ashwin, struck with a fantastic four-over spell in which he provided three back to back breakthroughs early in the innings and conceded only 28 runs.

Nitish Rana played a fine innings of 34 runs off 28 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes and Kieron Pollard also added 27 runs off just 17 balls, scoring 3 fours and one six, but these were not enough to take Mumbai to respectable total on a batting friendly wicket.

For RPS, Rajat Bhatia also bowled a nice three over spell during which he bagged 2 wickets and gave away 14 runs. Ben Stokes and Adam Zampa plucked one wicket each in their respective spells.

Well, it was a dramatic turnaround in the final over of the first innings. It is going to be interesting to watch how Pune stages the chase at their home ground.
