IPL 10: KXIP vs RCB Preview; Watch live streaming on hotstar.com

Indore: In the eighth match of the tenth season of Indian Premier League (IPL), a revitalized Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will meet a charged-up Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Holkar Cricket ground here on Monday.

Both the teams, RCB and KXIP, registered comprehensive victories in their matches against Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS), respectively.

After losing the opening encounter against defending champion Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Virat Kohli-less RCB successfully defended a low score against DD under the leadership of Shane Watson. Right-arm leggie Yuzvendra Chahal played an instrumental role in setting the opponents on the back foot with his fabulous spell of 1/19.

Pawan Negi had bowled a magical final over getting the most important wicket of Rishabh Pant (57 off 36) on the very first delivery and giving away just 3 runs to hand a 15-run defeat to Delhi.

RCB would once again bank on their frontline batsmen, who include Chris Gayle, Shane Watson and Kedar Jadhav to get a good total on the board. In absence of Kohli, AB de Villiers and Lokesh Rahul, Mandeep Singh, Stuart Binny and Vishnu Vinod have failed to make their presence count.

On the bowling front, RCB discovered a great pace option in Billy Stanlake who bowled an aggressive four-over spell getting two wickets for 29 runs. Chahal, Tymal Mills, Iqbal Abdullah and Watson himself are the other bowlers to bank upon.

On the other hand, KXIP would be extremely happy with their bowling and batting performances against RPS, as they first restricted the opponents to a moderate total of 163 runs and then, with contributions from all the top order batsmen, went on to chase down the target with six balls remaining.

The only thing they would be concerned about is that none of the top order batsmen could continue for long despite getting good starts. Hashim Amla, who opened the inning for Punjab, scored 28 runs off 27 balls, while Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha scored 14 runs each. Axar Patel also looked good in his 24-run inning, but failed to stay till the end.

Once again, it was the blockbuster partnership between captain Glenn Maxwell and David Miller which saw KXIP over the line. Maxwell continued his flamboyance in the inning scoring 44 runs off just 20 balls, while Miller just stopped the fall of wicket from the other end with his 30-run known which came off 27 balls.

The bowling department is being aptly led by Sandeep Sharma and Axar Patel, with support from Mohit Sharma, Swapnil Singh, Marcus Stoinis and T Natarajan.

We can expect some fine cricketing action in today's encounter between the two giants of the tournament.

Sony Pictures network will broadcast the Kings XI Punjab vs Royal Challengers Bangalore match, while hotstar.com and Hotstar mobile application will provide the live streaming of the match from 8 pm onwards.
