IPL 10 GL vs RPS: Andrew Tye 's pulls out hat-trick; Pune posts 171/8

Rajkot: Andrew Tye executed the second hat-trick of the day as well as the tenth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), which helped Gujarat Lions (GL) restrict a cruising Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) at a mediocre total of 171/8 at Saurashtra Cricket Association ground here on Friday.

Apart from completing the hat-trick in the final over of the inning, Tye also completed his five-wicket haul in his four-over spell, conceding just 17 runs.

Except Andrew Tye, Praveen Kumar was the highlight of the inning as he went for 51 runs in his four overs getting one wicket. He was hit for 25 runs in the fifth over of the inning. Dwayne Smith also bagged a wicket for 10 runs in his two overs, while Ravindra Jadeja gave away 40 runs in 4 overs getting 1 wicket.

Skipper Steve Smith was the highest run getter for RPS as he scored 43 runs off 28 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. Ajinkya Rahane, who surprisingly suffered a duck, fell prey to a stunning catch by Suresh Raina at the slips.

Rahul Tripathi (33 off 17), Ben Stokes (25 off 18), Manoj Tiwary (31 off 27) and Ankit Sharma (25 off 15) also did their bit in helping RPS on its way to 171 runs.

MS Dhoni failed once again as he was caught in front by Ravindra Jadeja after he added 5 runs off 8 balls.

Gujarat Lions will soon come back on the ground to chase down a healthy target of 172 runs.
