Rajkot: Gujarat Lions (GL) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will on Tuesday lock horns at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium here looking for redemption in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season 10, as despite having star-studded squads they currently trail behind rest of the participants in the tournament at seventh and eighth positions, respectively.

Gujarat has managed just one win out of four matches, while Bangalore has emerged victorious in one of their five encounters till now.

RCB has a reputation of bouncing back in the tournament, while GL, in the previous editions, had topped the points table in the league stage. Both the teams have some exciting players who are not only capable of singlehandedly changing the proceedings of any match but also destroying the opposition's bowling attack.

Gujarat Lions would be worried about the inconsistency of their batsmen, bowlers as well as their fielders, who have failed to unite as a team this season, which was their main strength last year. After suffering a thumping 10-wicket defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), they managed to defeat Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the second encounter at Rajkot.

They would be hoping to continue their momentum at home venue while RCB would look forward to end their losing streak, as since the return of its regular skipper Virat Kohli, it has not won a single match this season.

In a major jolt to RCB, some media reports have claimed that AB de Villiers will miss the match against Gujarat Lions because of an injury. The reports have cited a tweet from the South African cricketer in which he expressed disappointment over missing out today's match. The tweet, however, has now gone missing.

Royal Challengers Bangalore mainly depends on its batting line-up which is studded with the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Kedar Jadhav and Mandeep Singh, while their bowling, which featured Yuzvendra Chahal, Sreenath Aravind and Shane Watson, has improved with the inclusion of Samuel Badree and Adam Milne.

On the other hand, Gujarat Lions has an equally balanced batting line-up including Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Smith, captain Suresh Raina, Aaron Finch, Dinesh Karthik and Ishan Kishan. Their bowling has been their weak point this IPL season as except Ravindra Jadeja, no one, including Praveen Kumar, Basil Thampi and Munaf Patel, has performed up to the mark.

The teams might have disappointed the fans so far but we can expect a nail-biting encounter here today. So stay tuned to your television sets and watch the Sony Pictures network to watch the live coverage of the match, while Hotstar mobile application and hotstar.com will provide the live streaming of the match from 8 pm onwards.
