IndvsEng: Manish Pandey ‘in’, Rahane ‘out’ due to injury

New Delhi: In a major jolt for injury-hit Indian Cricket team, Ajinkya Rahane has been ruled out of the remaining fourth and fifth Test matches against England and uncapped Manish Pandey has been called up as a replacement. Rahane was hit on the right index finger during practice and sustained an avulsion fracture.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also announced the inclusion of Shradal Thakur who has been elected as a cover for Mohd. Shami. Shami played Mohali Test with a sore knee.

The fourth Test encounter of the five-match series against England will begin from Thursday at Wankhede Stadium.

Indian players including Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and Wriddhiman Saha are already out of the side owing to injuries. Indian batting, however, still seems to be strong with Manish Pandey and Karun Nair in the middle order.
