Rajkot: The first Cricket Test match is heading for a dull draw. England Cricket team was 114/0 with Alastair Cook (46) and Haseem Hameed (62) at the crease, at stumps on Day 4 of the first of five-Test match series here on Saturday. England has stretched lead to 163 runs.

Earlier, India folded for 488 runs in its first innings. Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara were the major charms sharing 209 runs partnership for the second wicket. Being promoted in the batting order, Ashwin yet again proved his batting skills playing a crucial 70-run knock.

Resuming the Day 4 at 319/4, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane began India’s stand but failed to continue it for long. Kohli got out in one of the weirdest manners as was given out hit wicket at a score of 40 runs. Rahane also departed scoring 13 runs. Then, Saha and Ashwin shared 64 runs partnership. Ashwin’s 70-run inning was studded with seven fours.

For England, Adil Rashid was the leading wicket-taker picking four wickets while Moeen Ali and Zafar Ansari claimed two wickets. Ben Stokes and Stuart Broad bagged one wicket each.

England had scored 537 runs in its first innings.
