IndvsEng, 3rd Test: Lower batting order powers India post 417 runs

Mohali: Indian Cricket team came up strongly in the game with lower batting order shining on Day 3 and helping India gain a lead of 134 runs. Ravindra Jadeja and Jayant Yadav have played some tremendous Cricket with the bat powering India script 417 runs in its 1st innings in the third Test of the five-match series at Punjab Cricket Association stadium here on Monday.

Resuming the total of 271/6, Ashwin was the first to depart after sharing 97-run partnership with Jadeja. Ashwin's 72-run inning was laced with 11 boundaries. Ravindra Jadeja was the hero of India's batting. He missed his hundred by 10 runs. His 90-run knock was laced with 10 fours and a single six. Jadeja and Jayant stitched crucuial 80-run partnership. Jayant also scored his first fifty in the International Cricket.

For England, Stokes was the leading wicket taker picking five of India while Rashid yet again impressed taking four wickets.

Earlier, England was bowled out at 283 runs.
