IndvsEng, 1st T20: Who will open for India?

Kanpur: Men in Blue will be without Shikhar Dhawan or Ajinkya Rahane when they will play England amid the cheers of local fans. Then who will open Indian innings at the Green Park stadium?

As skipper Virat Kohli has already cleared that he is in no mood to drop out-of-form openers, so in that case Lokesh Rahul would be the first pick to open Friday’s game. The other opening slot still remains vacant despite Mandeep Singh in the house. Mandeep would not be the perfect choice after his not-so-good performances in the previous given chances in International Cricket.

The chances:

The 19-year old young talent Rishabh Pant, who played some tremendous Cricket in Ranji Trophy, could be tried to open the inning. But, the major possibility is of Indian run-machine Virat Kohli who had earlier opened the inning for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the last season of Indian Premiere League (IPL).

Teams:

India:

Lokesh Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli(c), Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni(w), Suresh Raina, Hardik Pandya, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Ashish Nehra, Manish Pandey, Parvez Rasool, Mandeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal

England:

Eoin Morgan (capt), Moeen Ali, Jake Ball, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Liam Dawson, Alex Hales, Chris Jordan, Tymal Mills, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stoke
